ABOUT SHAMAR INCLAN

Class of 2023

Shamar Inclan is a Music Education Major at the University of Arkansas. As a student in grade school, she took part in school marching bands and indoor percussion groups, and she became passionate about competitive marching band and the creation of marching shows. She uses her studies of the french horn to further her musical understanding so that she can apply good music to complex marching band shows. At the University of Arkansas, she is an active member of the Razorback Marching Band as a Visual Section Leader. This position allows her to dig deep into visual aspects of the ensemble, such as marching posture and set placement and design. Through the band, she has been able to join an honorary band fraternity called Kappa Kappa Psi, which has taught her the importance of working as a team in managing an organization and what it means to help the bands run smoothly. Bands have become such an important part of her life, and she is looking forward to instilling this same passion into future students as a band director someday.
